Hello! My name is Jennifer Lingo, and I’m your PTA president this year. I want to welcome you all, new and our returning Rangers, to a wonderful year at Deer Park Elementary.
While things might look a little different as we start school, we are still very excited about what this school year will bring. Our PTA is currently working with the administration to purchase BrianPop for the entire school and provide support to our families and teachers any way we can. We are hopeful we will be able to resume some of the fun school-wide events we’ve held in past years while creating new ways for our families to connect during these uncertain times.
An important part of the PTA is our annual membership drive. Support from our families and business partners allows us to do incredible things around Deer Park. Due to the great support during the 2019-2020 school year, PTA was able to purchase seventeen interactive smartboards for our classrooms, cover the Pre-K playground, support approximately 45 teacher mini-grants resulting in updated games, books for classroom libraries, STEAM manipulatives, and various supplies to help our faculty during our e-learning this spring. We hosted a cybersecurity program, our holiday movie night, Boys Night Out, Sweetheart Dance, Ranger Walk, a food drive, provided meals during multiple events for the staff, and even pulled off a snow day!! These amazing programs and activities would not have been possible without the continued support of the PTA. We hope you will consider purchasing a membership today.
New and existing parents, we encourage you to visit Deerparkpta.org to purchase your PTA memberships, uniforms, 2020-2021 yearbooks, and learn more about our PTA.
We also hope you’ll find us – Deer Park Elementary PTA – on Facebook and Instagram!
As the school year starts, may we be kind to one another, show acceptance, patience, and grace to those around us, and be thankful for the incredible staff at Deer Park. On behalf of the entire PTA board, we wish you the very best this school year.
No matter how we learn this year, online or in the classroom, I know our students will excel because Rangers Rise UP!
